We offer Single Topic,       5 Week Course     and        Kids Camps


*5 Class Course We Meet Once A Week For 5 Consecutive Weeks

For Ages 13 Years and Older

Includes all Food, Ingredients, Recipes, Materials, Dinner, a Monogrammed Apron and Cook Book!

*New Students Cooking Class Itinerary


Week #1- Cutting and Knife skills.  Learn to make Healthy Delicious Salads and Salad dressings.

Week #2- Soup Class. Learn to make a variety of Delectable Soups.

Week #3- Seafood Class.  Learn to cut and filet fish. Cook Salmon, Trout, Red Snapper, Sea Bass, Mahi Mahi and Shellfish.

Week #4- Meat Class.  Learn to cook the Perfect Meats, Pork tenderloin, Chicken & Rib-eye.

Week #5- Pastry and Desserts.  Napoleons, Sabayon, Crepes Suzette and Chocolate.


Classes are once a week.

Kids Cooking Class Summer Camp!    Monday - Friday 9am-1pm

Week One (1): Healthy Cooking Camp! Monday July 7th to Friday June 11th, Ages 6 to 12 years. This Healthy Cooking Camp focuses on teaching your little ones on how to prepare healthy and delicious foods that they love!  Each day your child will learn fun and healthy dishes that they can recreate at home!  $350.00

Week Two (2): The Art of Baking! Monday July 14th to Friday July 18th, Ages 6 to 12 years.  This Cooking Camp will teach your child all about the Art of Baking.  Including the science of weighing, measuring and scaling ingredients. Your kids will create delectable baked goods each day that they will be proud to show off at home!  $350.00

Week Three (3): Trip Around the World! Monday July 21st to Friday July 25th, Ages 6 to 12 years.  Each day your kids will travel a New Country learning about it’s culture and Cuisine! They will learn about classic techniques/kitchen etiquette, service and table manners. 5 Countries in 5 days!  No passport Required! Italy, France, Spain, China and Japan Cuisine!  $350.00

Week Four (4): Serious Foodies! Monday July 28th to Friday Aug. 1st, Ages 7 to 15 years. For the Serious Foodies and wanna be Chefs! This Cooking Camp is based on the same principals taught in our full Culinary Academy Classes.  This is the most intensive of our Cooking camps.  Week includes Knife skills/Salads, Soup Class, Seafood/Pasta Class, Eggs & Breakfast Class, and Pastry/Desserts Class.  $375.00

About Us

The McAllen Culinary Academy, located on 10th Street in McAllen, offers cooking classes geared to those who have a desire to learn and enjoy cooking, without being intimidated in the process. Our chef (Marcel Fortuin) has over 36 years of experience in the culinary field and enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge with you.

Classes are hands on and our goal is upon completing the evening's class, you can recreate the evening's recipes at home.

Our recipes are created so you can go to any grocery store, purchase ingredients and make a wonderful meal. There is no need for specialty shops, we can teach anyone to make great meals with ease.

Our classes start with an overview of the evening. Next we go the kitchen, where you receive instruction and join in the cooking. You can participate as little or as much as you like. Once we have finished cooking we move on to the dining-room where we enjoy our work!

Join us in an atmosphere of discovery and enjoyment.

Classes are limited in size to provide you with a comfortable, enjoyable evening in which you receive lots of personal attention.
